Residential Trash Service
MDC Environmental Services provides Nunda residents with several service options.
- Plan A: Receive a 95-gallon waste container, specifically designed to accommodate the needs of larger families and households that generate higher volumes of waste. Unlimited weekly waste collection. Replacement or additional totes are available for a fee.
- Plan B: Receive a 65-gallon waste container, designed to accommodate the needs of families and households. Limited weekly waste collection. Extras collected at $20/per cubic yard.
- Plan C (Senior): Receive a 65-gallon waste container, designed to accommodate the needs of families and households. Limited weekly waste collection. Extras collected at $20/per cubic yard.
- Plan D (Senior): Receive a 35-gallon waste container, designed to accommodate the needs of smaller households. Limited weekly waste collection. Extras collected at $20/per cubic yard.

Residential Recycling in Nunda
MDC offers a couple of different recycling service levels in Nunda. It is important to note that trash cans are not an acceptable alternative for storing or setting out recycling. Using the designated toter ensures proper collection and processing, supporting the community's commitment to sustainable practices.
Recyclables should be placed loose in the container. They should not be bagged and no plastic bags should be included in the recycling tote. Cardboard should be broken down to 3 ft. x 3 ft. or smaller and bundled if excessive. Do not cram other items into cardboard boxes.
- Plan A/ Plan B/ Plan C (Senior): Receive a 95-gallon or 65-gallon recycling toter, specifically designed to handle various recyclable materials efficiently. Unlimited weekly waste collection. Replacement or additional totes are available for a fee.
- Plan D (Senior): Receive a 65-gallon , designed to accommodate the recycling needs of smaller households. Replacement or additional totes are available for a fee.
Yard Waste Pickup in Nunda Township
Unlimited collection of yard waste is available for all plans during the yard waste season (April – November).
Please place yard waste in biodegradable brown paper bags or specifically identified resident-supplied containers. Bags or containers must not exceed 50lbs in weight. 95 gallon totes are available for a fee.
Bulky Item Collection in Nunda
One bulk item (under 50 pounds) per week will be collected on your regularly scheduled collection day at no charge. Additional bulk items in a given week are $10/per item. Bulk items exceeding 50 pounds will require an additional fee. Contact us to schedule a collection.
Bulk items include: boxes, barrels, crates, furniture, and similar items that do not fit into a proper container and can be collected/lifted by one driver without assistance. Exceptions include items which are banned from direct disposal into a landfill (appliances, tires, car batteries, TV’s, electronic waste).
Oversized and overweight items will be collected but will require an additional fee. Oversized/overweight items are any single large or extra heavy item that will require the resident to schedule a special pick-up. An example of an oversized item is a piano, hot tub or any item that requires two or more people to lift. A per item fee of will apply for each oversized item. Contact us to schedule a pick up in advance.
Up to 1 cubic yard of construction waste is accepted. Additional construction waste is $25/per cubic yard.
Call MDC at 815-568-7274 to schedule a collection. Items should not be placed at the curb until the evening before the confirmed scheduled collection.
